S O N G S F R O M A R O O M
During lockdown months , I was reading and listening Leonard Cohen over and over again. Without that support, something would have inescapably fallen apart inside me.
In the meantime, a new series of photos was on its way – photos taken exclusively in my apartment. Pretty much naturally, this series goes by the name of Cohen’s 1969 album.
On the back cover of his album is a photo of Marianne in black and white. Simply dressed in a towel around her body, she was sitting in the little house of Hydra where they were living together.
Your beauty is everywhere which we distilled together our of the hard times
BLANC
I choose the rooms that I live in with care
The windows are small and the walls almost bare
There’s only one bed and there’s only one prayer
I listen all night for your step on the stair
But I know from your eyes
And I know from your smile
That tonight will be fine
Will be fine
For a while
– Tonight will be fine, Leonard Cohen
